Breath Analyzer - We calibrate with a Dry Gas standard (ethanol) or with Wet Bath standard. With our Wet Bath, we are able to create a solution to test 0-1.0% (BAC) blood alcohol concentration levels. By using the Wet Bath standard, we are more accurate than other labs that only calibrate by using the Dry Gas standard.

Dust / Gravimetric - Our A2LA ISO 17025 accredited dust calibration lab is based on comparison with a gravimetric standard, the gold standard for dust calibrations. We use a negatively pressurized chamber and a constant feed dust generator and ISO test (ISO 21103-1) particle size distribution dust (Arizona Road Dust). Ranges:Accredited range - (1.0 to 60) mg/m3, NIST Traceable Range - (1.0 to 150) mg/m3.

Flow Calibrator - CIH uses the MESA Laboratories ML800 primary piston prover for unmatched accuracy. The ML-800 is a positive displacement primary piston prover for gas flow measurements in either pressure or vacuum applications. Using Proven DryCal Technology, it combines the accuracy of a primary standard with unequaled speed and convenience. Volumetric or standardized flow readings are obtained with the push of a button. The ML-800 can be set to take flow readings manually, (one reading at a time), or automatically in the continuous auto-read mode. The ML-800 can be programmed for up to 100 readings in an averaging sequence. Range: 5 mLPM to 30 LPM.

Flow Hood - CIH Equipment’s flow hood laboratory calibration station is configured to mimic actual field conditions with a supply and a return side and using pitot tube traverse measurements. We take the required velocity measurements both horizontally and vertically, average the readings, and compare to our NIST traceable reference. Our range is 200 cfm to 2500 cfm.

Force Gauge - Gauge accuracy is checked periodically to ensure it is within calibration limits. Force gauges are calibrated using certified master load cells. We use a motorized UTM with variable feed speed for precise measurement. Multiple load points are specified during the calibration process which can help ensure linear accuracy. Range: 10 to 1,000 pounds with uncertainty calculations. CMC = 0.17 to 1.3% of reading.

Gas Meters - We ensure that your gas monitor is working to original specifications; has the proper stated air flow; has good working sensors; pneumatic system check; and the batteries are healthy at the time of calibration.

Gauss Meter - Our calibration process involves comparing magnetic field strength to the test instrument using reference magnets and a NIST traceable gauss analyzer for both axial and transverse probes. We also employ a Hemholtz coil for lower magnetic field strength. Range: 7 to 21 Gauss and 100 to 10,000 Gauss. Axial Probe: 7 Gauss to 21 Gauss, 100 Gauss to 2000 Gauss. Transverse/Flat Probe: 7 Gauss to 21 Gauss, 100 Gauss to 10000 Gauss
Heat Stress - Your heat stress monitor is compared against our reference standards at set temperature and relative humidity points. Procedures are designed to maximize the accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility of your temperature and RH measuring instruments. Range is 20 degrees Celsius to 450 degrees Celsius. We use NIST traceable standards and our lab is ISO 17025 accredited.

Indoor Air Quality - Your indoor air quality monitor is compared against our reference standards at set temperature and relative humidity points. We test the CO, CO2 and any other standards with the appropriate standards to assure you of the most accurate results. Our procedures are designed to maximize the accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility of your temperature and RH measuring instruments. Our standards are NIST traceable and our lab is ISO 17025 accredited.

Light Meter - Our white light and ultraviolet lab is setup with the most current International Light Technologies equipment and our capabilities include white light (footcandles, LUX) and ultraviolet meter calibrations for UVA, UVB, and UVC. Ranges: Light (normal) 150 lux to 45000 lux, Light (UVA) 0 mW/cm squared to 5 mW/cm squared, Light (UVB) 0 mW/cm squared to 20 mW/cm squared.

Microphones - A separate calibration of your microphone will be able to show a flat response curve or one where several frequencies may be off. You might miss this valuable piece of information if the sound level meter is checked as a whole unit (SLM + microphone combined). At CIH, measurements are made in accordance with IEC61094. Sensitivity of the microphone as mV/Pa and dB rel.1V/Pa, and frequency response is measured using an electrostatic actuator in the frequency range 20-20,000Hz.

Mercury Vapor - Calibration makes use of a mercury vapor generation device that uses permeation tubes as the trace gas source to verify the accuracy of mercury vapor monitors. The generator is verified by the use of instrumentation with a sensitive detection method, UV absorption (CVAAS) in three ranges, 0-100, 0-1000, and 0-2,000ug/m3. Sensitivity is 0.1ug/m3. Your mercury instrument will go through a thorough inspection, filters, and tubing, prior to calibration.

Miran Sapphire - Your MIRAN Analyzer will undergo calibration that covers the full infrared range of the instrument. We use either NIST traceable gases or depending on the model, injection of a known quantity of organic liquid that is immediately transformed to vapor in the process. We offer a standard library check with N2O and SF6, calibration date reset, and 2 replacement filters (optional) at this time.

Moisture Meter - In our environmentally controlled lab we use several electrical methods and verification through damp materials to assure you of a proper calibration.
