AIHA CEO to Join STEM Society Professionals Association

CESSE supports education, networking, and best practices to ensure effective STEM society leadership.

AIHA Chief Executive Officer Lawrence D. Sloan has joined the board of directors of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE). Established in 1977, CESSE is the professional society for CEOs and mid- to senior-level staff members who lead associations active in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. CESSE supports education, networking, and best practices to ensure effective STEM society leadership. Sloan’s involvement with CESSE began in 2018. He has served on a CEO meeting planning committee and presented at several CEO meetings. Most recently, he has participated in CESSE’s membership task force, which works to boost membership in the organization.

Sloan said that he looks forward to contributing to CESSE’s mission with other industry leaders as they foster innovation, promote best practices, and elevate the standards of leadership in their fields. “I’m truly honored and excited to join the board of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives,” said Sloan. “This opportunity aligns seamlessly with AIHA’s commitment to creating healthier workplaces and communities through collaboration within the scientific community.”
