Sharing Our Knowledge of Protective Clothing with Other Manufacturers
Over the past few months, demand for personal protective equipment from healthcare workers and the general public has soared as a result of COVID-19, creating a global supply shortage. Manufacturers across a wide variety of industries stepped in to help by dedicating resources to produce the protective solutions that frontline workers need most. General Motors began making ventilators. Hanes began making masks. And at Ansell, we have been guiding manufacturers with sewing capabilities to produce protective clothing.
As a global leader in PPE with a team of 13,000 people from 55 locations around the world, Ansell has been working tirelessly to maximize output and increase capacity. But demand for hand and body protection continues to significantly outpace supply and raw material shortages create further challenges. In an effort to boost domestic supply of much needed protective clothing, we are proud to announce that we’re sharing our rich regulatory and manufacturing expertise with qualified manufacturers in the US and Canada. We’re providing detailed toolkits with step-by-step instructions, patterns and informative videos to guide manufacturers through the process of producing gowns and coveralls that protect against ineffective agents. With our guidance, manufacturers can answer the call and join us in the fight against COVID-19 by providing protective clothing to the frontlines.
