SUCCESSFUL PREMIERE OF CIOSH THAILAND 2024

CIOSH THAILAND, the only specialist trade exhibition dedicated to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in Southeast Asia, successfully concluded its first edition last week at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC). The event welcomed 3,117 trade visitors and industry professionals, with and  international share of almost  20%  – attendees came 20 nations, including Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. There were also 61 visitor group delegations from Bangkok and neighboring regions, representing various industry sectors such as airlines, building and construction, oil and gas as well as food and beverage. Some 289 exhibitors from countries such as China, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain and Singapore provided a comprehensive overview of the latest occupational safety and health products and technologies .

CIOSH THAILAND is organized in partnership with the China Textile Commerce Association, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and Messe Düsseldorf Asia, and is part of Messe Düsseldorf’s  global portfolio of trade fairs for safety, security and health at work held in Germany which includes A+A, the industry’s No. 1 trade fair held every two year in Düsseldorf, Germany).  Commenting on the successful collaboration for the first edition of CIOSH THAILAND, Wolfram Diener, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Messe Düsseldorf Group, said: “The success of the inaugural CIOSH THAILAND underscores the growing significance of workplace safety and PPE innovation in the region. The 3-day exhibition’s vibrant and engaging atmosphere set the stage for successful  discussions and business leads across a wide range of industry sectors. Exhibitor Vicky Huang, Manager from PAN Taiwan Enterprise, commented: “CIOSH THAILAND was a perfect platform to introduce our product catalogue and interact with potential clients. The feedback and interest we received has been overwhelmingly positive.”

The Safety Consultation Clinic, managed by specialists from the Safety Engineering Association of Thailand, provided one-on-one targeted consultations for Thai companies. Channarong Waiyapoj, Secretary-General of the Safety Engineering Association of Thailand, noted: “This initiative was crucial in assisting businesses to not only tailor their safety strategies but also align them with national PPE standards. Additionally, the clinic offered visitors a wide array of high-quality safety products to choose from, ensuring that each business could find solutions that met their specific needs and compliance requirements.” The free consulting sessions enhanced the visitor experience, offering both guidance and a selection of key products and solutions tailored to diverse workplace environments.

For trade visitor Yotsapon Charoensuk, a safety engineer at Recycle Engineering Co., Ltd, the on-site consultation clinic offered invaluable knowledge and advice: “The insightful responses we received during the session, coupled with practical suggestions, really enhanced our understanding and implementation of safety practices in safe chemical handling.”

For one of the visiting group delegations represented by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, Samart Chimvises, Team Lead for the Department of Technicians from Safety, Health, and Environment, stated that CIOSH THAILAND is an important event and can play a part in supporting the operational demands of their transportation and maintenance sector: “Our company is dedicated to the safe transportation of goods and passengers and maintaining our fleet of aircraft to the highest standards of safety. The exhibition exceeded expectations, particularly because of a current project aimed at acquiring specialized personal equipment for heat-related operations. Given that our staff frequently work in outdoor conditions, these advanced equipment options showcased here are crucial for enhancing workplace safety and health.”

For exhibitor LANON Protection, CIOSH THAILAND’s strong regional positioning in Southeast Asia offered an excellent platform for face-to-face interactions with the Thai market and “reflected our focus on expanding in the Southeast Asian market”, said Daisy Fu, the company’s Sales & Marketing Manager. “We encountered numerous customers interested in our silicone products – with visitors coming from Thailand, Indonesia, and other neighboring countries, creating a very engaging atmosphere. We are delighted with our participation and look forward to continuing our involvement in future editions of CIOSH THAILAND,” she added.
